Pay Pal PrintMaster

Another rant

I have been over the last 5 weeks looking for a suitable label and invoice printing softeare solution for out Street Decals and our eBay shops.

I have tried variuos software solutions out including Dispach Pal and another one whos name escapes me.  Dispache Pal looked great and seemed to have everything we needed until we looked at the price.  They have a weird pricing structure which basically meant that we would need to spend about £300 to have it do all we required.  This is a shame as we liked the look of this one.

The next one was (sorry I cant remember), but this was free as long as you purchased the labels from the company that produced the software.  This however, still worked out expensive.

So we thought that Pay Pal Printmaster looked lile the one.  It monitored a Pay Pal account and automatically printed out a sheet that contanined the address label and packing sheet. Great this is ideal as we only take pay pal on both the shop and our ebay shop.

Royal Mail Smart Stamp

Friday, 10 June 2011 09:30:15 Europe/London

Royal Mail continue to frustrate the nations small retailers and eBay entreprenuers with what only can be described as the worlds worst software.

To improve our business processes we decided to implement Royal Mails Smart Stamp service.  This is Royal Mails own software designed to allow small busineeses to create, print and sticker their own postage on their orders.

This turned out to be one of the most irritating and anoying things that we have ever done and at least 1 PC has been smashed up in the process. The software is crap, it just simple doesnt work.  We have installed this on three different platforms at it still will not consistantly work.

It  is truley beyound description how any busniess could create a piece of software that is so bad.  I am a software developer so I feel that I have the relevent experience when I say it is shit.  It appears to be based on Internet Explorer, which is clearly the first mistake from Royal Mail. Why would they base this software on Internet Exploder? and why does it cost money to rent?

This is rubbish, so Royal Mail get to charge me £5.99 a month to rent some seriuosly crap software, that doesnt give me postage discounts!

Carbon Fibre

Wednesday, 26 January 2011 09:30:19 Europe/London

Street Decals have just decided to move in to Carbon Fibre look vinyl.  It looks and feels like the real thing but comes in about a tenth of the cost.  Even then its at least 10 times the cost of normal exterior vinyl.

Look for the new link on the top menu.  We will be added more products as we go along so check back periodically to see whats in there.
